Cactus Fire
I recall seeing a tiny cactus during a warm spell putting out a bud in the early hours of night. By 4:00 AM the bud was nearly open.
I felt foolish lying on my belly, camera in hand, waiting for the first rays of dawn to backlight the little blossom.
The fully-formed flower was wilted by 7:00 AM.
