“Ronin”, from the Japanese mythic, lone, drifting Samurai-Without-A-Master.

He’s a recent presence in these parts and likely transient: the land on which I live is claimed by a coyote family that just welcomed a new litter of pups and they will not tolerate a stranger in their domain.

“Ronin” has me recalling an exhausting day long, long ago when I was in high school in Chicago... I ditched classes and went to three different art theaters and watched “Seven Samurai” (full, three-hour version), “Ugetsu”, and then “Gate of Hell”, all in one day. I was entranced by the movies. And I had strength and endurance.
