Myths about ravens span the globe. In Norse mythology, Odin had two companion ravens, one named Huginn (“Thought”) and the other named Munnin (“Memory”) who flew around the world each morning and returned to report on the day’s state of affairs. In the earliest mythology from Western Europe, ravens were revered, symbols of wisdom, reason, and thinking itself.
